Testing the complete setupRather than testing in Isolation, Dynomax tested our 475 Regulator with one of our 5" Motors. In order to capture the Regulator behaviour, we mounted Ultrasonic Flow Meters and Pressure Transducers both directly uphole and downhole of the Regulator in order to exactly capture the tool behaviour. |
The Result?A Motor with consistent RPM above the opening rate. The Regulator opened consistently at 1230 lpm, across multiple activations, exactly as expected using the 1" orifice. By changing the orifice size the opening flow rate can be adjusted. When in the closed position the Regulator bypassed less than 2% of the total flow. The Regulator successfully bypassed up to 800 lpm (Higher Rates were not tested due to limitations of the setup), with less than 3 lpm variation in the through flow. Throughout the testing the Motor speed varied by 5 rpm when flow exceeded the Regulator opening point. |
